Details
- Producer Description: Marcarini is based in the Barolo township of La Morra and has vines in two of the area's most prestigeous vineyards: La Serra and Brunate. Marcarini produces wines which are traditional in style, showing powerful tannins and built for long ageing.
- Region Description: If Tuscany is the Italian equivalent of Bordeaux with its old aristocratic favourites and large estates, then Piedmont is Burgundy with its small producers of wines with labels of Byzantine complexity. The famed wines of Barolo and Barbaresco are to be found here, but also there are the fruit driven Dolcettos and Barbera and one of Italy's more interesting whites, Gavi.
