- Our Wines
- We are intensely passionate about wines. We actively seek out wines which speak of where they come from, and their variety. Wines which are bland, commercial and faceless have no place at Ballantynes. We do not boast as having the largest range on the web, we are more proud of the quality and value that our selections offer, with no token wines. If we don’t approve of it, a wine will not appear on these pages.
- Our Service
- We pride ourselves on our five star service. We endeavour to despatch the same day all orders using a national courier service through APC. Tracking numbers will be provided on dispatch of goods.
- Our Staff
- We have a small team of five with a combined experience of 100 years in the wine business. The selecting of our wines is done by Peter and Richard Ballantyne. One or both will always be available for advice if what you require is not available on these pages.
- Our History
- Ballantynes was founded in 1978 by Peter and Mae Ballantyne. Their son Richard joined in 1991 and the first retail shop in Cowbridge was opened in 1993, followed by a shop in Cardiff in 2002. Our first presence on the web was established in 1996, one of the first merchants in the UK to realise the importance of this new medium.

- We are based in Cardiff’s Pontcanna area which is known for its shops and restaurants and only 15 minute’s walk from the city centre. 211-217 Cathedral Road, Cardiff, CF11 9PP.
